Setting up your travel eSIM before you fly

Travel eSIMs are data-only packs covering 170+ countries. The smart move is to install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi before you travel - it will not start using its allowance until you arrive and connect.

At home, before the trip

Illustration: scanning an eSIM QR code with your phone

  1. Buy the pack for your destination in the VoicePro app or shop.
  2. Scan the QR code we send you and install the eSIM (see the iPhone or Android install guides in this section).
  3. Label it clearly, for example "VoicePro Travel - Spain".
  4. Leave the travel eSIM off for now, and leave your usual SIM as the default for calls and texts.

When you land

  1. Turn the travel eSIM on and select it as your mobile data line.
  2. Make sure data roaming is enabled for the travel eSIM only - it is a local-data product, so this does not incur roaming charges from us.
  3. Keep your usual SIM active for calls and texts if you want to stay reachable on your number.

Good to know

  • Travel eSIMs are data-only: keep using your primary SIM for calls and SMS, or use data apps for calling.
  • You can top up or add a new pack in the app at any time - it adds to the same eSIM, no reinstall needed.
  • The plan starts on first use, so installing early costs you nothing.
