Porting problems - PAC rejected, expired or delayed

Ports fail for a handful of predictable reasons. Here is what each one means and how to fix it.

PAC rejected

The PAC your old network issued must match the number exactly. Rejections almost always come from:

  • A typo in the PAC or the phone number - re-check both carefully.
  • The wrong account's PAC - if you have more than one number, each has its own PAC.

Re-submit with the corrected details and the port re-books.

PAC expired

A PAC is valid for 30 days from the day your old network issues it. If it lapses, simply text PAC to 65075 from the old SIM again - a new code is free and instant, and does not affect your service.

Port taking longer than expected

Ports complete within three working days of us receiving a valid PAC. Weekends and bank holidays do not count as working days, which is the usual explanation for a port that feels slow. If you are past three working days, contact us and we will chase the losing network directly.

Changed your mind?

If you have submitted a PAC but want to stay put, tell us as early as possible - a port that has not yet executed can sometimes be cancelled, but it is time-critical.
